Snow, Snowmen and Snowballs

We are celebrating Winter in the Kindie Class!
The weather has been unusually warm this week
so it made our snow theme even more fun!
Here's a little peek of our week.

Our Literacy center featured snowmen puppets
 and flannel board stories.
The children loved playing with the "snowballs".
We featured Snowmen at Night in our language center.

We wrote journal pages about snow.

We had snowball fights with "snowballs".

We made snowmen in the art center.  Our room looks
amazing with all our cute snowmen!

(We find some of our ideas on Pinterest and then adapt them to
our taste.  If you are not familiar with Pinterest you
really should check it out.  It's awesome!)

These snowmen were made out of torn pieces of paper!
I love these!  Don't you?

We had snowmen for snack on Fun Friday!
The coolest thing we did this week was....

make this snowman from three frozen water balloons.
He was about 20 inches tall and super fun to make!
This was a great science activity.  We had a blast!

We also discussed Penguins.

We read Tacky the Penguin.

We made these fabulous "Tacky's".

We also used pattern blocks and made penguins.

This was a great week.  It was nice to get back to our
Kindie routine after being gone for Christmas Break.

We are very excited for next week.  We will be
talking about letter D, dinosaurs and dogs.

Hugs to all of you!

  1. Three pins from one post. You rock! That is a first for me. I love Tacky, the Penguin stories, and those loud shirts are just perfect. What were your snowball fight snowballs made of?

  2. Thank you very much. This was a really fun unit. The snowballs were white pom poms, ping pong balls and styrofoam balls. I had buckets for the children to toss the snowballs into, but they REALLY preferred throwing them at each other! Ha!!
    Thanks for reading my blog!
